NACAC: Black Saga Bond Game Show

On Saturday, April 26, 2014 the North Arundel County Alumnae Chapter (NACAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc, the Northern Arundel Cultural Preservation Society, and the Wiley H. Bates Legacy Center, are hosting the Black Saga Bond Game Show at the Wiley H. Bates Legacy Center in Annapolis.  It will begin promptly at 11:00am and conclude at 3:00pm.
The Black Saga Bond Game Show is the creation of Dr. Charles Christian, the author of Black Saga: A Chronology of the African American Experience and creator of the Black Saga Competition--a learning activity for middle and elementary students to learn about the African American experience and an “inclusive” American history.  The Black Saga Competition has been implemented in several hundred schools throughout Maryland and it challenges all of us to learn about the African American experience.

Everyone is invited. All attendees will be grouped into teams of threes and will compete for hundreds of prizes.  Don’t forget the youngsters and children, they will be expected to participate and help the team win prizes.  After participating in preliminary rounds, three teams will advance to the Championship rounds where they will win great prizes, including cash.  According to Dr. Christian, founder and director of the award-winning Black Saga Competition for schools and who created Black SagaBond--”this is a time for family fun and teaching the AfricanAmerican experience.”

The game show tests our knowledge of the African American experience in three different ways--timelines, clues, and scrambled words.  Christian states that “although the level of question difficulty can be elevated, we plan to keep it at the moderate level to ensure that everyone has fun and the prizes are awarded to many in the audience.  For those who know a little to those who know a lot about the African American experience, we encourage you to participate.”  Don’t forget to bring your friends and family members to cheer you on. Again, that’s the Black Saga Bond Game Show at the Bates Legacy Center, presented by North Arundel County Alumnae Chapter (NACAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, and the Northern Arundel Cultural Preservation Society.
