Each year since 2007, the South River Federation has compiled a South River Scorecard presenting data on ten key indicators of the river’s health. These indicators include water clarity, dissolved oxygen, underwater grasses, nutrients, and the abundance of aquatic life. This data has mainly been collected from the South Riverkeeper, but the report also utilizes data from other respected sources such as the Maryland Department of Natural Resources and the Virginia Institute of Marine Sciences.
