Crofton Council Distributes $550,000 to Local Nonprofits

Arundel High School was one of the big beneficiaries of funds set aside from an agreement with a local developer.

The Greater Crofton Council last week distributed more than $550,000 to 26 local groups, including $100,000 to the Arundel High Booster Club.

The group handed out checks totaling $554,500, eight years after striking a deal with a developer.

The money for nonprofit groups stemmed from an agreement struck in 2005 with the Coscan/Adler Limited Partnership, developer of the Enclave at Riedel Pond. Money could not be distributed until deeds to the plots were received only recently.
