POLL: Will You Attend Crofton Night Out Against Crime?

The annual event will be held on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the parking lot of the Crofton library.

Crofton is one of many towns that will participate on Tuesday in the National Night Out, a crime and drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW).

The Crofton Night Out Against Crime will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the parking lot of the . Last year, more than 350 people attended the free local event.

According to the NATW website, last year's National Night Out campaign involved more than 15,000 communities and 37 million people participated.

The Crofton event will feature police and fire vehicles, police , live music, children's activities and a clown and refreshments.

One of the goals of the event is to "send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back," according to the NATW website.
