4 Nabbed at DUI Checkpoint in Crofton

More than 760 cars passed through the checkpoint at Route 3 and Route 450 Friday.

Anne Arundel County police said 761 vehicles passed through a DUI checkpoint in Crofton on Friday night, resulting in four arrests, including three for driving under the influence. 

The checkpoint lasted for about three hours on Route 3 near Route 450. It was the 97th checkpoint conducted by police since the department began the practice. In total, checkpoints across the county have seen 75,165 vehicles pass through, resulting in 406 DUI arrests and 110 drug-related arrests. 

"Checkpoints are an element of the department’s comprehensive crash reduction strategy which combines prevention, education and enforcement," police said in a press release.
