CPD Urges Holiday Safety

From the desk of Crofton Police Chief Bill Booth.

Dear Croftonites,

The Crofton Police Department wishes our citizens a happy holiday and wants to share some safety tips for the holiday weekend.

We will be on the lookout for drunk and aggressive drivers this holiday weekend, and encourage citizens to call "911" and provide a description of travel and vehicle description for any vehicle observed operating under the influence.

As always, make sure when you travel you buckle up, with added holiday traffic the potential for accidents increases and seatbelts reduce injuries and save lives.

Lastly, be careful when using fireworks over the holiday, ground based fireworks such as sparklers are legal, but any fireworks discharged into the air such as rockets are not.

Supervise children around any fireworks.

Have a safe and happy 4th.
