Crash Causes Route 3 Backup, No One Hurt

Traffic was briefly delayed on Maryland Route 3 southbound Friday morning after a collision involving two pickup trucks near McKnew Road.

A crash involving at least two pickup trucks on Maryland Route 3 South snarled traffic Friday morning, but a fire department official said no one was hurt.

The crash happened just before 9:30 a.m. near the intersection of Route 3 South and McKnew Road in Gambrills. One pickup truck appeared to have rear-ended another, authorities said.

The southbound lanes of Route 3 were briefly closed.

Lt. Keith Hamilton of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department said that emergency crews did not treat any injuries or transport anyone to the hospital.

State troopers were on the scene and lanes on Route 3 were open by 10:30 a.m.
