Crofton Man Arrested on Marijuana Charges

A Cambridge Drive man is charged with marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession charges according to Anne Arundel County Police.

Anne Arundel County Police arrested a Crofton man on drug charges Tuesday around 2 p.m.

Western District officers had the area around Cambridge Drive under surveillance when they spotted a suspect leaving his home with a backpack in the 1900 block.

The suspect drove out of the community and that’s where the officer stopped him for expired vehicle registration.

The traffic stop also showed the suspect Trevor Vand Jones, 18, has a suspended drivers license. The officer placed Jones under arrest and searched him. That’s when they found two bags of marijuana in his pants pocket, more quantities in the vehicle and a scale.

Additional officers returned to Jones’ home to search the residence. There they found additional quantities of suspected marijuana.

Approximately 22.1 grams of marijuana with a $220 street value was seized during this investigation according to the police report.

Jones was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of controlled substance paraphernalia.
