Police Investigating Suspicious Hole in Grocery Store Window

Police investigate if the hole in Shoppers Food window is from bullet.

Anne Arundel County Police are investigating a suspicious hole resembling a gunshot hole in the window of a Crofton grocery store.

The call went out Sunday around 6:22 p.m. according to police spokesman Justin Mulcahy. That’s when officers responded to the in Crofton Center.

Mulcahy said officers on the scene found a hole in the front glass of the supermarket.

So far there are no reported injuries. Mulcahy said some witnesses around the area reported hearing what they thought was a car backfiring, but immediately noticed the hole in the front window of the store.

Police searched the area around the store for a projectile, although none was found, according to Mulcahy. He said detectives continue investigating what caused the suspicious hole in the window. So far there is no confirmation of any shots being fired.
