Police: Suspects Stealing Tires, Rims from SUVs

Police said there has been a recent string of thefts involving SUVs in the Gambrills area.

Anne Arundel County police are warning residents in Crofton and Gambrills about a series of thefts from cars in the area over the last few weeks. 

Police said that there have been several reports of suspects stealing tires and rims from larger SUVs. Three incidents involved a theft from Cadillac Escalades, while another involved a Chevrolet Tahoe. 

In one incident, the owner of a vehicle came out of his home at 3:40 a.m. and saw three men loading a floor jack into another car, before speeding away. The owner then saw that his truck was missing all of its tires and rims.

Police said that two incidents were reported on March 18 in the area of Cheyenne Drive and Ogden Square in Gambrills.
