Police to Hold DUI Checkpoint in Crofton Friday

Officers will be posted on Route 3 near Route 450.

Anne Arundel County police will have a checkpoint Friday on Route 3 near Route 450, in an effort to get drunk drivers off the road. 

The department's DUI checkpoint is part of a broad effort to cut down on impaired driving during the holiday season. December is National Drunk & Drugged Driving (3D) Prevention Month. The county police perform DUI checks as part of the state's Checkpoint StrikeForce initiative through the Towards Zero Deaths campaign. 

Friday's checkpoint will be the 97th in Anne Arundel County. Previous checkpoints have seen 74,404 vehicles pass through, resulting in 403 DUI arrests and 110 drug related arrests.
