Traffic Alert: Funeral Procession Could Tie Up Traffic Saturday

Police are alerting residents that a funeral procession Saturday for retired Anne Arundel County Police Chief George Wellham will cause some traffic congestion.

Traffic could be delayed Saturday during a funeral procession from Linthicum Heights to Baltimore for retired Anne Arundel County Police Chief George Wellham.

The funeral Mass for Wellham will be held at 9:30 a.m. Feb. 22 at the Linthicum Heights United Methodist Church, 200 School Lane in Linthicum Heights. Interment will follow at the Loudon Park Cemetery, 3620 Wilkens Ave. in Baltimore.

Police are warning drivers to expect traffic delays along the processional route. The route may affect traffic on 695 Westbound to 95 Northbound to Caton Avenue.

The procession will last from about 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Additionally, Anne Arundel County Police personnel will provide traffic control along the route to help drivers with alternate routes.
