Traffic Stop in Crofton Results in Drug Bust

Police arrested two men after discovering cocaine and cash in their car.

Anne Arundel County police arrested two men in Crofton Saturday afternoon after a routine traffic stop resulted in the discovery of powder cocaine in their car. 

Police said they pulled over a 1998 Buick LS sedan near Defense Highway and Davidsonville Road, and discovered that the driver and passenger both had suspended licenses. The officer called a tow truck and conducted an inventory search of the car. 

During the search, the officer found 63 grams of powder cocaine and some suspected crack cocaine. The two men also had $3,800 in cash, police said.

Police charged Steven Brian Byrd, 34, of North Beach, and Richard Wayne Horn, 29, of Shady Side, with drug possession and intent to distribute.
