CPD: Urby Drive Suspects Possibly Connected to Several Crofton Burglaries

New details released in Monday's Urby Drive break-in. Crofton Police Department officials said the suspects may be connected to four other burglaries from October.

An update on Monday’s Urby Drive home burglary.

The Crofton Police Department has released new information on the suspects and possible vehicle they may have used to leave the scene of the crime.

Monday a homeowner came home between 8:45 and 9:30 a.m. and realized she had apparently interrupted the break-in. The woman reportedly noticed the door panel was kicked out and the door was ajar.

The homeowner reportedly told officers she saw what’s being described as “the shadow of a figure” running from the home.

According to CPD, several things in the home were ransacked. Crofton officers responded to the house in the 1700 block. When they arrive the suspects had already left the scene.

According to a police news release, investigators said the suspects in Monday’s burglary may be the same ones from an October 11th alert. That’s when CPD released two on the following streets:

  • 2800 Block of Klein Court
  • 1600 Block of Kent Fort Lane
  • 2300 Block of Nantucket Drive

Simular to Monday,  the burglaries reportedly happened while residents were coming home from being away at work and school.

Suspect #1 (Vehicle Driver):

  • White female
  • Mid-to-late 20’s
  • Large build
  • Unkempt appearance
  • Light colored hair (possibly in a ponytail)

Suspect #2 (Vehicle Passenger):

  • White male
  • Thin physical build
  • Late teens to early 20’s
  • Last seen wearing a dark colored baseball cap
  • Unkempt in appearance
  • Dark colored back pack
  • Seen smoking in the vehicle

The victim was able to obtain a license plate number according to the police news release. The tag number is Maryland tag 3EN-C45.

An investigation revealed the tag number is listed to a 2000 Chevy sedan, registerd to a Prince Frederick, Maryland address.

Crofton Police are asking people to be on the look out for a black Chevy. It’s possibly a Monte Carlo model with a red stripe running along the bottom.

Corfton and Gambrills residents are encouraged to call “911” and alert police if you spot these suspects or their car in the area.

Anne Arundel County Police are investigating a burglary in Crofton.

It happened Monday morning in the 1700 block of Urby Drive near .

The burglary call came into police at 9:22 a.m., police spokesman Justin Mulcahy told Crofton Patch in an email. He said there was evidence of a forced entry made into the home.

The investigation continues into the break-in.

This comes at a time when police are investigating multiple thefts from autos and burglaries around Crofton.
