Board of Ed to Examine Crofton School Additions

Crofton Middle and Crofton Meadows Elementary may get significant additional classroom space.

The Anne Arundel County Board of Education is set to review and vote on design documents for classroom additions at Crofton Middle and Crofton Meadows Elementary with a combined cost of $10.2 million.

School board officials are scheduled to discuss the plan at their meeting Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Annapolis.

Anne Arundel County Public Schools reported in a press release that the 12-classroom addition at Crofton Middle will cost about $7 million and is slated to be completed around 2014. The addition would relieve overcrowding at the school, which has a capacity of 1,019 but an enrollment of 1,150, according to the release.
