Anne Arundel County 9/11 Memorial Unveiling
All are welcome to attend the unveiling of the Anne Arundel County 9/11 Memorial at a ceremony taking place on September 11. The memorial, erected at Police and Fire Headquarters in Millersville, features actual steel beams from the World Trade Center. There will be a moment of silence at 8:50 a.m., when the first plane hit the North Tower a decade ago. Col. Edward C. Rothstein, commander of Fort George G. Meade who served as Chief of Intelligence Operations for the International Security Assistance Force in Kabul, Afghanistan, will be the keynote speaker. The Annapolis Chorale will perform at the ceremony and also at two free evening events at St. Anne’s Church and Maryland Hall.
