Gazette: Former State Delegate and County Councilman David Boschert Dies

The Former Crofton Rotary Club member, Annapolis native and Crownsville resident was a retired captain in the U.S. Marine Corps and taught political science at Anne Arundel County Community College.

The Maryland Gazette's Earl Kelly reported Friday morning that David G. Boschert, 63, of Crownsville died Thursday evening after recently being diagnosed with both pancreatic and liver cancers.

Boschert served in the Maryland House of Delegates from 1999 until 2007. According to his campaign website, he filed to run in June 2010 in District 33A to represent the communities of Severna Park, Crofton, Gambrills, Crownsville and parts of Millersville, Odenton and Davidsonville and Severn.

He was also a member of the Anne Arundel County Council, serving the 4th District from 1984 through 1994.

Boschert was a longtime member of the Crofton Rotary Club. Newly installed Club President Dr. William W Sondervan issued this statement on the passing:

The Rotary Club of Crofton morns the loss of one of its former members, David Boschert.  His service to the citizens was always a priority, whether as a Marine, our community’s representative on the county council, or our district representative in the state legislature.  He helped our club to achieve it Centennial Project, and was always available for advice.  He will be greatly missed by the many in the community that knew him.
