Board to Review Nantucket Kindergarten Addition

The school board on June 5 will review specifications for the project, and will also review the overall Facilities Master Plan.

The county school board will vote this week on the details of expansion and renovation work at several local schools, including a kindergarten addition at Nantucket Elementary School.

The board will review and vote on a total of seven projects at its meeting on Wednesday, focusing on educational specifications.

The kindergarten addition at Nantucket calls for four additional classrooms, boosting the school's capacity from 684 to 772 students. The project would cost $2 million and would be completed by the middle of the 2014-15 school year.
