Board to Vote on Nantucket Kindergarten Addition

The board is expected to approve a $200,000 contract relating to the school's expansion. Several other projects in west Anne Arundel County are up for review.

The Anne Arundel County Board of Education will vote on contracts relating to several expansion and renovation projects in west Anne Arundel County, including a kindergarten addition at Nantucket Elementary School. 

The board on Wednesday is expected to approve a $205,000 contract to Grimm and Parker for architectural design and construction administration. 

The Nantucket kindergarten addition is scheduled to be complete by December of 2014.

Other local school-related contracts up for vote include: 

  • A $2 million contract for a new HVAC system at Waugh Chapel Elementary School
  • A $200,000 contract for a architectural design and construction administration for a kindergarten addition at Seven Oaks Elementary School
  • A $1.9 million contract for a new gym addition and renovations at Maryland City Elementary School, due for completion September 2014.

The school board is also expected to adopt its final budget for fiscal year 2014 on Wednesday.
