Chamber Head: Build a Crofton High School

Claire Louder said the school is needed to accommodate the new growth in the area.

The head of the West Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce has penned a column urging support for a new high school in Crofton.

In a column published in The CapitalClaire Louder says the construction of a new high school is needed to accommodate the speeding population growth in the area.

"We need to educate state officials about the unique circumstances affecting our region as a result of the 60 percent employment increase at Fort Meade," Louder writes. "They need to understand the costs of waiting — and the impact on our existing schools, and our students, of failing to act."
