Crofton Students Graduate from University of Mary Washington

Patch congratulates local members of the Class of 2012.

The University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, VA, announced that two Crofton residents were among the 1,193 students who recently graduated. Neil Howe, historian and best-selling author, gave the undergraduate commencement address on May 12.

According to a press release, the following students received degrees from the university.

  • Amy M. Olson graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science.
  • Sarah M. Roop graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in art history.

The university awarded 73 master of business administration degrees, 102 master of education degrees, 21 master of science in management information systems, 30 master of science in elementary education degrees, 463 bachelor of arts degrees, 41 bachelor of liberal studies degrees, 80 bachelor of professional studies degrees and 379 bachelor of science degrees. Four graduates received both the MBA and the MSMIS in a dual-degree program.
