Kindergarten Registration Drive Wraps up Friday
If you haven't registered your Kindergartner head over to one of four Crofton public elementary schools.
Kindergarten registration for Crofton’s four public elementary schools is underway with the initial registration wave wrapping up Friday, although parents can continue signing up throughout the summer.
The push to get new students on the books this week will help public school administrators determine staffing needs for the 2011-2012 academic year.
Student enrollment will make the difference between hiring four or five kindergarten teachers at Crofton Elementary School.

The Anne Arundel County Public Schools website gives the following guidelines for registering children for kindergarten.
Registration Information
- Children must be 5-years-old by Sept. 1 to enroll in kindergarten.
- Contact your local school for information about office hours. Information about individual school programs is available at http://www.aacps.org/
- All kindergarten programs are full-day
Parents should bring the following to schools:
- Child’s birth certificate
- A copy of your child’s immunization record (check immunization requirements at http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines)
- Proof of residency (lease, mortgage document, utility or phone bill, income tax or property tax notice or a notarized Tenant Verification Form)
