Magnet Programs Informational Sept. 22

Special sessions will offer information about magnet programs for students and parents.

From Anne Arundel County Schools:

Students and parents who want to learn more about the array of magnet programs available in Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS) can do so at either of two informational sessions beginning this week. Sessions will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on the following dates and times:
● Thursday, September 22, at Annapolis High School.
● Wednesday, October 5, at Old Mill High School.
AACPS currently has 13 magnet programs available to county public school students. At the middle school level, there are three International Baccalaureate (IB) and two Performing and Visual Arts (PVA) magnets. At the high school level, students can choose from three IB programs, two Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) programs, two Centers for Applied Technology programs, and the BioMedical Allied Health program. A new high school PVA program will open next year.
Magnet programs are open to all interested fifth- and eighth-graders who meet the minimum requirements as stipulated on the Advanced Studies and Programs page of the AACPS website, www.aacps.org. The application period for magnet programs begins on October 1.
