Q&A: Crofton Middle 'Music Man' Star Sydney Abbott

"The Music Man" will debut at Crofton Middle School on March 8 and in preparation for the show Patch caught up with several members of the cast.

Sixth-grader Sydney Abbott, spoke with Patch about the show and why you should make sure you have tickets.

Crofton Patch: What is your character or role in the production?
Sydney Abbott: I am Martha. She is on the school board, which turns into the Octet.

Crofton Patch: What is your favorite part of the show or why should people come see it?
Sydney: I love all of the dancing numbers, especially “Shipoopi.” People will love to see all of the dances and the fun music that is part of this show.

Crofton Patch: What is your favorite show or musical you have ever seen or heard performed?
Sydney: My favorite show that I have seen is Wicked. I sing the songs around the house all of the time. My favorite show that I have performed in is Alice In Wonderland. 

Crofton Patch: What do you like to do besides performing?
Sydney: I like hanging out with my friends and singing wherever people will let me.

Crofton Patch: What do you want to be when you grow up?
Sydney: I dream of being a Broadway star and hope to help children believe in and to live their dreams just like I hope to live mine.
