School Year Wraps, Students Ready for Summer

South River High School dismissed students until August—we captured the thoughts of students and staff.

Area public school students had their last day of school on Tuesday.

For students at South River High, the last day was a short one—students were dismissed at 11:50 a.m. For some, it was a little bit of a letdown because they sat for two final exams and then called it a year.

Students in middle and elementary schools also had a two-hour early dismissal, while students who graduated from fifth and eighth grades had morning ceremonies and then no scheduled classes.

Most of the high school students were looking forward to sleeping in, working and going to the beach or on vacation.

School will be back in session in August—staff returns on the 16th, while students come back on the 23rd.
