South River Girls Cheerleading Wins Winter Competition
South River takes first place at LaPlata event on Saturday. Chesapeake took second.
South River's co-ed cheerleading squad took first place on Saturday at the Maryland State winter cheerleading competition at North Point High School in LaPlata in Charles County.
South River's varsity cheerleaders are on call to cheer at football and basketball games, but they also cheer at competition. They have participated in eight cheer competitions since October.
