The Week Ahead: Debate, Volleyball and Wegmans

Here's a look at what's on tap this week in west Anne Arundel County.

Is the election here yet? OK, we've got a couple weeks to go. But in the meantime, check out these events this week, which include a debate viewing party. 

Presidential Debate Viewing Party

When: Monday, 9 p.m.
Where: Perry's Restaurant
Details: The West County Democrats will gather as Mitt Romney and Barack Obama go at it for the third and final time. 

Board of Education Meeting
When:
Wednesday, 7 p.m.
Where: 2622 Riva Rd., Annapolis
Details: The school board will offer an update on the academic achievement portion of the school system's strategic plan. The board will also vote on the designs for the new Severna Park High School and two other school projects. 

Arundel Volleyball vs. Severna Park

When: Thursday, 6 p.m.
Where: Arundel High School
Details: The Arundel girls are unbeaten in county play, and the county title could be on the line here in the final regular season game of the year. 

Crofton Kiwanis Halloween Parade

When: Saturday, 11 a.m.
Where: Crofton Woods Elementary School
Details: Come out for the 36th annual parade down Crofton Parkway. Anyone can sign up and walkin costume. Parents and kids can register at 10 a.m. in the Prince of Peace Church parking lot. 

Wegmans Opens

When: Sunday, 7 a.m.
Where: Wegmans, Waugh Chapel Towne Centre
Details: Enthusiastic shoppers are expected to be lined up at the new store for the Grand Opening. Will you be one of them?

I'm tempted to be one of the first in line at Wegmans but I think my 4yo would be uber cranky if I woke her up at 6am on a Sunday! I will check it out on Monday morning after the daycare drop off.

Good Luck to Arundel Volleyball and for anyone that might want to go the Arundel Girls Varsity Soccer team has the County Championship game against South River at North County High School at 7 pm on Tuesday, October 23rd. The Lady Wildcats finished the regular season undefeated with a record of 14-0 and they beath South River in double overtime when they played last week.
