When Will Construction Work At Local Schools Be Done?

New gym expansions and kindergarten additions are underway at several local schools and could be complete within the next year.

The Anne Arundel County Board of Education on Wednesday got an update on the timeline for renovation and construction work at several local schools. 

Contractors have been hard at work at a number of schools in west Anne Arundel County undergoing expansions or upgrades. 

Here's a look at when the school system expects work to be complete at each local project: 

Waugh Chapel Elementary School, gym addition
Construction: underway this month
Substantial completion: May of 2014. 

Maryland City Elementary School, gym addition
Construction: Began in August
Substantial completion: May of 2014. 

Crofton Elementary School, revitalization (increasing capacity from 512 to 658 students)
Construction: Began in April
Substantial completion: August of 2015. 

Nantucket Elementary School, Kindergarten addition
Construction: In design stage, work scheduled to begin in July of 2014
Substantial completion: January of 2014

Crofton Meadows Elementary School, Kindergarten addition 
Construction: Underway in October
Substantial completion: March of 2014

Four Seasons Elementary School, Kindergarten addition
Construction: Began in July
Substantial completion: February of 2014. 

Seven Oaks Elementary, Kindergarten addition
Construction: In design stage, work scheduled to begin in July of 2014
Substantial completion: January of 2014

Meade High School, Open Classroom Enclosure 
Construction: Starting in July of 2014
Substantial completion: August of 2014
