Arundel Boys win over North Point to Advance

Wildcats begin their playoff run with a bang. A nine-goal first quarter boosts Arundel in a lopsided win. Junior midfielder Hunter Cetrone led the way with four goals.

Arundel coach Kevin Necessary said he believes his team is battle tested and ready. Friday's 18-0 dismantling of North Point was just another step for a team poised and determined to make playoff run.

"We are battle tested, mentally and physically, and that's what the playoffs are all about," Necessary said.

Four goals and an assist from junior Hunter Cetrone and three goals from seniors T.J. Holston and Mike Pucci powered the Wildcats past North Point.

The Wildcats simply overwhelmed the Eagle defense, a program that is in only its second year of existence.

Holston and Pucci each had their hat tricks before the first quarter was over.

"Our offense did a nice job of possessing the ball and focusing on that," Necessary said. "There is nothing more pleasing then when you come out of a huddle and you say, 'run the roll back,' you run the roll back and you either get a good shot or you score."

Arundel held a 9-0 lead after one quarter of play.

Cetrone doubled his effort to start the second quarter, scoring twice, with the first goal coming off a feed from Logan Fate.

Arundel pulled back on the attack in the second half, as Necessary rested his starters. P.J. Hill notched goals in the third and fourth quarter, the Wildcats would add two scores in each of the final two quarters.

The Wildcats now have just one day to prepare for county rival South River, who this season.

"We've had a good week of practice, we've really been practicing for South River all week, expecting that they would win," Holston said. "I think we'll be ready for Saturday."

Saturday's game will be held at South River, with a start time of 2 p.m.
