Crofton Girls Lacrosse Off to a Good Start

Several Crofton teams battling for first place in various divisions so far this spring.

Several of the Crofton teams have gotten off to a very good start in girls’ lacrosse this spring.

Many Crofton teams play in the league run by the Department of Recreation and Parks, which is split into age groups and division inside of those age groups. One of the best teams so far this spring has been the Crofton girls who compete in Middie “Agility” division.

Coach Todd Levitt’s team has a 5-0 record and is in a virtual tie for first place with the Severna Park Thunder (4-0). The two teams will meet this Saturday at Crofton Park, and a win for Crofton would give it a 1 ½-game lead late in the season.

The Crofton team in the Middie “Drive” division also started with a perfect record. Coach Robert Coar’s group began with a 2-0 record and is scheduled to play Monsignor Slade last Saturday at Old Mill High.

Coach Charles Schoenberger’s team is 1-2 in the Middie “Spirit” division. Their next game is set for April 30 versus Arden at Crofton Park.

The Crofton Fury is in a virtual tie with Bel Air and Davidsonville for the top spot in the Junior “Achievement” division. Crofton comes into this weekend’s action with a 3-0 record while Davidsonville and Bel Air both sit at 4-0.

Crofton’s next game is April 30 against Church Hill at Crofton Park. Scott Wolford is the team’s coach.

In the Junior “Speed” division, Crofton is battling for first place. Coach Carolyn Noe’s team is 2-1 so far this season. They are next scheduled to meet the St. Mary’s Saints Blue team on April 30 at Crofton Park.

Crofton is tied with CYLA for third place, one game out of first.

The Crofton team in the Junior “Character” division started 1-2 for coach Sean Logan.

The girls next play is today against Severn at Arundel High.
