Lorde Performing at Preakness InfieldFest

Lorde will bring her Grammy-winning song "Royals" to the Preakness concert in May.

The sport of kings will be serenaded by the artist who made “Royals” a mega-hit during this spring’s Preakness.

Lorde will bring her Grammy Award-winning song of the year to Maryland as she headlines the Preakness infield concert at Pimlico Race Course in May, reports WTOP.

The Maryland Jockey Club announced that the 17-year-old star from New Zealand will perform during the infield festival May 17 at the 139th Preakness Stakes.

The singer quickly became a star in the U.S. after the release of her debut single "Royals" last March, says The Baltimore Sun. Last month, the hit brought her awards for Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance at the Grammys.

Headliners in recent years at the Preakness have included Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Maroon 5, and recent Super Bowl halftime phenom Bruno Mars, WTOP says.
