Oakland Athletics Draft Crofton's Potter

Eric Potter, who recently finished his senior year at the University of Maryland, was selected in the 19th round. He was a part of the high school state championship team at Arundel High.

Arundel High School graduate Eric Potter was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in Major League Baseball’s first-year player draft this week.

Potter, a pitcher who recently completed his senior season with the Terrapins at the University of Maryland, was selected in the 19th round with the 586th overall pick.

The lefty from Crofton went 3-7 this past season and appeared in 18 games for the Terrapins, starting 11. He finished with an ERA of 4.80 in 65.2 innings pitched, but held opponents to a .208 batting average.

Potter graduated from Arundel High in 2007. He was part of the state championship team there in 2006.
