South River, Arundel Wrestlers Head to States

South River's Austin Alley qualified to wrestle at 126 pounds. His brother, Collin, will wrestle at 145 pounds

South River High will have two chances at a state wrestling title this weekend, after twin brothers Collin and Austin Alley earned berths.

Austin Alley will wrestle at 126 pounds, after securing a record of 42-4 on the season. He will open against Malachi Edmond of North Point. 

Collin Alley will compete at 145 pounds and open against Jacob Asher of Dulaney Valley.

Arundel High School will send a representative to the state wrestling tournament, after junior Tanner Chaplain qualified to compete at 120 pounds. 

Chaplain, who has a 27-5 record, will open against Tony Arrington of Mergenthaler High in Baltimore.

The MPSSAA state wrestling tournament will take place Friday and Saturday at Cole Field House in College Park.
