Will Alec Lemon Make an NFL Roster?

The former Arundel High and Syracuse wide receiver continues to compete for a spot on the Houston Texans.

Plenty of people are saying nice things about the way Alec Lemon has played for the Houston Texans as the team prepares itself for the regular season.

But will the former Arundel High star be on the team when the final roster is announced next week?

Lemon, a Crofton native and wide receiver who set records at Syracuse and Arundel High, went undrafted but was invited to the Texans' training camp.

He has caught 3 passes passes for 38 yards in the Texans' two preseason wins over the Miami Dolphins and Minnesota Vikings.

By most accounts, Lemon has performed well in practice, but faces stiff competition.

Teams will cut their rosters from 90 to 75 on Tuesday, then trim down to 53 by Saturday, August 31.

Reporters noted that Texans Head Coach Gary Kubiak complimented Lemon in a press conference following the first preseason game.

Rantsports.com speculated that Lemon was "the guy who is too good to be on the practice squad but not good enough to stick at the next level."

Sports Radio 610 in Houston called Lemon "a long shot at best" to make the final roster.

Do you think Alec Lemon will play in the NFL this year?
