10 Reasons to Attend the Sweethearts Ball

The Crofton Regional Community Center will host an event on Feb. 18 at the Blue Dolphin Restaurant in Gambrills to raise money to open a community center and a skate park.

Billed as an evening of "fine dining, dancing and romancing," the Sweethearts Ball on Feb. 18 benefits the (CRCC). Besides the fabulous time you'll have at the event, there are some more practical reasons for going to the Sweethearts Ball.

CRCC volunteer Kim Nelson provided Patch with the following list of reasons to support the event that will raise money to open a community center and a skate park in Crofton.

  1. Positive and safe place for kids to find activities.
  2. Skate park.
  3. Senior citizens can partake in activities that will be offered there.
  4. Great place to have meetings and events (especially for scouts, dance classes, classes from the community college, gymnastics needing the space, etc.).
  5. Office space available for police to use while on patrol.
  6. Basketball teams to use and other sports to be played there.
  7. Large and small rooms available (room for additions to go on at a later date).
  8. Bleachers that can be pulled out when needed for observers to watch a game or activity in the gym.
  9. Plenty of storage space for all.
  10. Outside will be room for various types of skaters and observers as well.

The event will be held 6:30-11 p.m. on Feb. 18 at the in Gambrills. Tickets are $100 per person or $150 per couple, and can be purchased online (through PayPal) at www.croftonregionalcommunitycenter.net or at , and .
