A Royal Food Drive for Crofton Food Bank

With the nearing of a royal birth, a Gambrills business is holding a royal baby shower.

Not for Prince William and the former Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, who are expecting their first child later this month, but for baby supplies to benefit the Crofton Food Pantry.

Zachary Pope, chef and owner at Roundz Gourmet Market & Catering, said in a release that the media attention surrounding the couple and the birth gave him the idea to do something in the area.

“We thought it would be fun to take part in the excitement surrounding the royal baby by celebrating our local babies," Pope said. "And there is no better way to do that than by helping families in need provide for their little ones.”

The eatery at 2299 Johns Hopkins Rd. will be collecting diapers, baby wipes, forumla and food Thursdays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. through July 20. The eatery is also running a contest for anyone who can correctly guess the baby's birth date and gender. The winner will receive a gift basket.
