Bike Doctor Ride Raises Breast Cancer Awareness

Gambrills and Annapolis businesses team up to host countywide bicycle ride to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research.

The countywide ride was part of a Trek Women nationwide goal to get more then 10,000 people riding at the same day to support breast cancer research. According to a Trek Women press release, one in eight women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime.

The $25 registration fee for the ride will go to fund the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Freeland said this is the first year for their partnership with the Trek Women program. He wants the Crofton Bike Doctor  and Plastic Surgery Specialists of Annapolis to participate in another race in 2012.
