YOUR PHOTOS: Garden Club Prepares Flowers for Veterans

The Crofton Village Garden Club is taking time out to honor those who served.

Veterans Day is nearly a week away, and some Croftonites want to show their growing appreciation for those who served, including the Crofton Village Garden Club (CVGC) who met Wednesday morning to create special gifts for veterans.

Members handpicked flowers to make 120 red, white and blue flower arrangements to honor the men and women who volunteered to serve our nation.

The CVGC plans to present the floral arrangements to the veterans at the Loch Raven VA Community Living and Rehabilitation Center in Baltimore. The flowers will be accompanied by “thank you” notes from the Crofton-based group.

According to an email from the group, the CVGC received a “Certificate of Appreciation” from the VA Maryland Health Care System for this project back in April 2011.

Anna Dixon and Bernie Robertson chair the group that’s been offering their special blend of “Gardent Therapy” since 1999.
