Police: Thief Fires Shots, Robs 7-Eleven

The incident occurred early Sunday in the 1000 block of Route 3 North in Gambrills.

Police are searching for a man they say used a gun to rob a 7-Eleven in Gambrills early Sunday morning. According to a police press release, officers responded to the 7-Eleven in the 1000 block of Route 3 North in Gambrills for a reported robbery that just occurred at about 12:44 a.m. Sunday.  Officers spoke with an employee that said a male suspect entered the store armed with a handgun and demanded money. According to police, the suspect fired a single round from the gun into the ceiling, grabbed an undisclosed amount of money and fled the store in an unknown direction. Multiple officers, a K-9 unit and the Aviation Unit searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspect.

What was he wearing? Did the store video camera get his picture? What kind of car did he get into? Another example of very poor follow up on a string of robberies in our area the last year. .....including the vandalized cars, robberies at Staple's Corner, the new starbucks at Waugh Chapel, and many others.   more ›
