Looking good can translate to a good workout.

After stuffing down all of those holiday meals and desserts, most people are ready to shed a few pounds for the New Year. As you prepare to put that new gym membership to use, you also have to look for workout gear. Surprisingly, looking good while working out is more important than you think. Gym goers are replacing the old ratty t-shirts and shorts for stylish, tailored gear. One question that may come to mind is, “Why do I have to ‘dress up’ to go to the gym when all I’m going to do is sweat anyway?” Well, if you have to run errands like shopping for groceries or picking up supplies for your child’s science project, you won’t have to worry about having to change clothes after working out. Crofton's BJJ Conquest offers an alternative workout with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

The practice of yoga balances the mind, body and spirit.

Most people think of yoga as rigorous stretching they can’t do. While strength and flexibility are essential parts of the yoga process, more is involved. It is about creating a union with the mind, body and spirit through the performance of poses or postures, each of which has specific physical benefits. Dance Dance Revolution Leads NES Health Kick

Nantucket Elementary School students are using the Dance Dance Revolution video game to dance their way to healthy lifestyles.

Students at Nantucket Elementary are taking part in a county wide program that allows them to use video equipment to enhance their physical education program.  The students are dancing thier way to healthier lifestyles. Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) is a popular video game for both children and adults. The player chooses a song from the list and can play alone or with a group at various levels of difficulty. The player is instructed how to move their body to mimic the image in the game. All of this is set to popular music.
