FATHERHOOD WEEK: Fathers Day Movie Night

The Crofton Patch "Fatherhood Week" continues. We're saluting "dear old dad" all week with special stories, gift ideas and tips on how to honor these special men. The right movie and snacks can make for a night of fun at home with dad.

On Father’s Day after the bbq sauce has been licked from the kids fingers the question becomes: “What’s next?”  How about a Fathers Day Movie Night? This will give the entire family a chance to sit back, relax and enjoy an affordable fun evening with Dad. Turn off all electronic devices, grab a few pillows make a batch of popcorn and dim the lights – It’s Show Time! The first thing to do is pick a great "Dad Movie." Below is a list to help you decide. These DVDs are perfect to share with your dad on his day. Once your movie of choice is picked out, it’s time to think about a snack.  You can always count on movie favorites like pop corn, Goobers or Raisinettes to make it a true movie night. Regal Cinemas Planned For New Waugh Chapel Project

The theater would have 12 screens and serve as another anchor to the 1.2 million-square-foot Waugh Chapel Towne Centre development.

The new Waugh Chapel Towne Centre on Route 3 will feature a 52,000-square-foot movie theater, the project’s developer announced Tuesday. Greenberg Gibbons said the Regal Cinemas Waugh Chapel Stadium 12 feature a dozen screens and the ability to show IMAX films. It will serve as an anchor tenant to 1.2 million square feet of development. Greenberg Gibbons previously announced that Wegmans, Target, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Petco are planned for the project, which is located just south of the Village at Waugh Chapel in Gambrills.   In all, the Waugh Chapel Towne Centre (also referred to as Village South at Waugh Chapel) includes 650,000 square feet of retail, 380 residential units and 125,000 square feet of office space. Movie theatre great! Wegmans okay but Target and Petco? Dont we already have those right up the road? My hope is that they build a pedestrian walkway so folks can ride their bikes to the movies and won't have to cross route 3 on foot! Dangerous.   more ›
