It's strange to me that pizza is often described as a pie. It's the great outlier among other dishes that carry the name. But to be honest, I can't complain. In fact, I enjoy eating pizza as much as any dessert out there. So in my effort to fill my pizza-loving stomach, I headed over to South River Pizza & Subs and boy was I delighted. The food was great, service was quick and I even got a discount for saying it was my first time dining there (which it was). Vocelli Supports Girl Scout Cookie Sales

Two Crofton and Odenton pizzerias are teaming up with area Girl Scouts to support the youth group’s annual cookie drive.

It’s a chance to order a pizza pie and cookies too.  Vocelli Pizza manager Eric Chadwick said the restaurant is selling the Girl Scouts’ top selling cookies when you order from the Crofton/Gambrills and Odenton/Piney Orchard locations. Customers can chose from the following cookies for $4 a box: All of the proceeds will go to the scouts Crofton service unit to be equally distributed among the various troops in the area. The Girl Scout cookie and pizza partnership runs through Nov. 17.
