SPCA Hosts Half Marathon Adoption Day

The SPCA of Anne Arundel County will be open for 13 hours and 10 minutes for animal adoptions on Saturday.

Are you thinking of adding a furry friend to your family? The SPCA of Anne Arundel County is hosting an adoption event on Saturday. The SPCA in Annapolis will be holding its first Half Marathon Adoption Day from 8 a.m. to 9:10 p.m. Saturday, according to a release. In honor of the event, the SPCA will be offering same-day adoptions to approved applicants. If you are interested in taking a dog, cat or small animal home with you SPCA officials said to bring a copy of your lease with you if you rent your home. The Half Marathon Adoption Day also will include a fun run hosted by Fleet Feet Annapolis at 8:30 a.m. and a "runner's expo" from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The expo will include tables, giveaways, and/or discounts from the Annapolis Striders, …

Get Involved with Anne Arundel County SPCA

One of the largest and oldest animal welfare organizations in the county is seeking volunteers.

If you need a reason to get involved with the SPCA of Anne Arundel County, Volunteer and Foster Coordinator Kim Teter has the perfect answer. “Where else can you go where 70 different dogs get beyond excited just because you’re there,” said Teter. To coincide with National Volunteer Week, Patch has been writing about various organizations in Anne Arundel County that are seeking volunteers. The SPCA of Anne Arundel County, at 1815 Bay Ridge Ave. in Annapolis, is one of those groups. “People love the greeting their pet gives them when they come home.
