Some South River High School seniors discuss what goes through the mind of a senior days before graduation.
No more homework, no more books... not so fast. School is almost out for South River High School seniors, but there's still a little work left to be done. So how are they coping with the looming "Senioritis?" Senioritis occurs when upperclassmen approaching gradution cannot focus on academics. Some SRHS Seahawk seniors talked with Patch.com about how they are handing the last minute pressures.

South River seniors talk to Patch about their high school experience and college expectations.
Classes are pretty much wrapped up. The prom is over. A serious case of senioritis has settled in. Still, a group of South River seniors sat with us recently to talk about their experiences as the "Class of 2011" winds down. Senior class president Leah Levendusky said that their lasting legacy at the school will likely be that the students were very service- and community-oriented. Levendusky said that through various initiatives, students in the class worked hard to raise money for charity, to raise awareness of difficult issues and to try to help the community in whatever way they could. One of those initiatives included this year's Harvest for the Hungry food drive. Statewide, students collect food and cash for the Maryland Food Bank. …

South River Baseball also wins, will be heading to regional playoffs.
After two consecutive losses in the East Regional Lacrosse Championship game, the South River Boys team (14-1) found the third time was certainly the charm, easily ousting visiting Annapolis High, 12-4, to advance to Friday's Maryland State semi-final game at Arundel High School. Sophomore Ben Chisholm led the Seahawks with four goals and two assists and senior Joey Papetti scored three goals, while senior goalkeeper Chris Sumpter made six saves against 26 Annapolis shots with most coming late in the fourth quarter. The two teams began slowly but played stout defense, as the Panther’s Kevin Pastrana made two of his 12 saves within the first few minutes of the contest. Three shots from Chisholm missed high. Marissa Carroll's three goals are not enough, as Severna Park eliminates South River from the state playoffs.
The playoff run for the South River girls lacrosse team ended on Monday, as the Lady Seahawks fell to Severna Park, 12-6. The Lady Seahawks were hurt by a lack of possession, as they were forced to play catch-up for the whole game. "We were playing way too much defense. You can't play that much defense, you get worn down. We had a plan and it wasn't executed," South River head coach Kim McNemar said. Severna Park's Madison Thomas got things started, finishing a shot past goalie Kelsea Donnelly after two and a half minutes of play. Donnelly finished with 11 saves. The Falcons looked poised to run away with the game when Thomas's second score brought the score to 6-1 at the 7:19 mark. Severna Park dominated possession in the first half, …
