Crofton Gold’s Gym gears up for Marley Station Spin-A-Thon
More than 20 Crofton aerobic spinners to participate in Marley Station Mall Spin-A-Thon to curb spread of diabetes.
Five Baltimore area Gold’s Gyms are gearing up for the fifth Annual “Spin-A-Thon” at Marley Station Mall to raise money for the American Diabetes Association. Spin aerobics teams from the Bowie, Crofton, Dundalk, Glen Burnie and Marley Station gym branches will take over the mall’s center court Saturday from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Crofton Gold’s Gym group exercise director Kimberly Murphy said spinners raised $35,000 last year for the ADA. She said spinners are working out to help people learn more about diabetes. “Exercise can fight diabetes. So if you exercise, you can lower your insulin and blood sugar levels and in some cases exercise can help people come off their diabetes medicine,” Murphy added.
