Gambrills’ Donahue Tapped for National Lacrosse Classic

A Gambrills teen and former Davidsonville Recreation League lacrosse player will represent Maryland in a national competition.

Neil Donahue of Gambrills has been selected for the National Lacrosse Classic Maryland Prep regional team. The Archbishop Spalding High School junior has been named a 2011 High School Underclassmen All-American. This is Donahue’s second time trying out for the NLC. “It proved something to myself. I proved that I could do it,” Neil said. “It gave me a lot more confidence.” Neil started playing lacrosse when he was 11 years old for the Davidsonville Recreation League. “We’re very excited. Neil took it upon himself to move to a level beyond high school,” said his father, Patrick Donohue.  Neil is an active student athlete.  He is a swimmer at Crofton Country Club, while playing lacrosse and football for Archbishop Spalding. “He started off …
