Gambrills Crash Kills Virginia Man
Police said the collision occurred on Route 3 in Gambrills on Sunday afternoon.
A collision on Route 3 in Gambrills Sunday afternoon claimed the life of a Virginia man.
According to a police release, Jonathan Wesley Roberts, 30, of Aylett, VA, was killed when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a car on Route 3 near Carver Road.
Police responded to a motor vehicle collision at 1:38 p.m. Sunday. Officers arrived on scene and located both vehicles blocking the entrance to the Royal Farms store.

An initial investigation revealed that a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt, driven by a 19-year-old Severn woman, was attempting to cross Route 3 northbound to enter the parking lot of the Royal Farms when it traveled into the path of Roberts' 2007 Suzuki motorcycle, which was traveling in the left lane.
As a result of the crash, police said the operator of the motorcycle, Roberts, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at Baltimore Washington Medical Center. The operator of the Chevrolet received minor injuries.

At this point in the investigation it does not appear that excessive speed or alcohol contributed to this crash, according to a release. The investigation is ongoing.
